2026 Regular Season
Week 5 Recaps
Carolina spent its bye watching the unbeaten club empty out around it. Pittsburgh finally won, the Jets survived by one, and Drake Maye supplied five touchdowns for a Raiders rout. Week 5 left one perfect record, two winless teams and plenty of Monday-night pacing.
Buccaneers
(4-1-0)
48
Cowboys
(2-3-0)
36
Tampa Bay's bye-week accounting proved considerably healthier than Dallas's offense. Chuba Hubbard's 12 average points and nine from the Kansas City kicker supplied 21 before the Buccaneers finished a 48–36 rebound win. Brock Purdy threw two touchdown passes for 10 points, matched by the New Orleans defense. Dallas got 11 from the Atlanta defense, but its running backs, receivers and tight end combined for just 17; David Montgomery also exited with a groin injury. After opening with 86, the Cowboys have stayed at 50 or below for four straight weeks.
Eagles
(2-3-0)
44
Jaguars
(4-1-0)
63
Jacksonville reclaimed the league scoring lead with 63 points, getting matching 12-point performances from Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Each topped 100 receiving yards and caught a touchdown. Patrick Mahomes supplied 14 average points on his NFL bye, and the Jaguars rebounded from last week's 35. Philadelphia's Seattle kicker made five field goals for 17, but the Eagles' running backs combined for one with Saquon Barkley unavailable. Jacksonville reached 4–1 and 290 season points; Philadelphia absorbed its third straight loss, 63–44.
Bears
(1-3-1)
10
Packers
(3-2-0)
48
Chicago's kicker and defense supplied eight points. The entire rest of the lineup supplied two. That arithmetic tells most of the story of Green Bay's 48–10 win, the week's widest margin. Jordan Love threw for 367 yards and two touchdowns, the Jets defense added 10, and the Giants kicker chipped in nine. Tetairoa McMillan's eight average points helped on his NFL bye, too. T.J. Hockenson left with a concussion during a scoreless outing for Chicago, whose season-low total sent the Bears into a third straight defeat. Green Bay improved to 3–2.
Bengals
(2-3-0)
33
Dolphins
(2-3-0)
55
Christian Watson and Joe Burrow nearly handled Cincinnati by themselves. Watson's six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns produced 19 points; Burrow threw four scoring passes for 18 more. Their combined 37 exceeded the Bengals' full total in Miami's 55–33 victory. The timing helped: Miami had lost three of its first four despite averaging more than 51 points, and Watson had managed just one the previous week. Cincinnati's three receiver spots finished scoreless, including injured Skyy Moore, leaving Rhamondre Stevenson and the Detroit kicker to lead with nine apiece.
Browns
(1-4-0)
45
Jets
(4-1-0)
46
The Jets erased a 31–10 deficit, then spent Sunday night hoping Cleveland's Atlanta kicker would stop scoring. Jahmyr Gibbs powered the recovery with 151 rushing yards, 56 receiving yards and two touchdowns for 23 points; Courtland Sutton's touchdown put New York ahead 37–32. Cleveland eventually cut a 46–34 deficit to one, but got no closer. Jameis Winston had supplied 19 individual points for the Browns, who also got nine from J.K. Dobbins after four straight one-point games. The Jets escaped with a third consecutive win. Comfortable, it was not.
Texans
(4-1-0)
73
Titans
(1-4-0)

DeMario Douglas had one point through four weeks. Fifteen more arrived Sunday, courtesy of two touchdown catches, and Houston suddenly had the extra scorer it needed. Jared Goff contributed 22 with three passing touchdowns and a rushing score, then James Cook's 111 rushing yards and two touchdowns added 18 Monday. The resulting 73–53 win was Houston's fourth straight and the league's highest score of Week 5. Tennessee got a superb 22 from Jaylen Warren's 188 scrimmage yards and two scores, but its own season-best total still left it 20 points short.
Colts
(2-3-0)
49
Steelers
(1-4-0)
52
Blake Corum finally gave Pittsburgh a Monday worth staying up for. Trailing 49–43 with Indianapolis finished, the Steelers drew even on his touchdown, then went ahead when his rushing yardage added three more points. Corum finished with nine in Pittsburgh's first win, 52–49. George Pickens had set the table Thursday with 130 receiving yards, a touchdown and 13 points, while Jacory Croskey-Merritt added 10. Indianapolis received three touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers and 12 apiece from Malik Nabers and Brock Bowers. After three straight weeks below 25, Pittsburgh more than doubled that threshold.
Raiders
(3-2-0)
70
Patriots
(1-4-0)
35
Drake Maye wore a Patriots jersey and spent the afternoon ruining the TLFL Patriots' week. His 374 passing yards, four touchdown throws and rushing touchdown produced 30 points for Las Vegas, tying Josh Allen's season-high player score. The Raiders rolled 70–35 with another 26 average points from the NFL byes of Kenneth Walker, Rashee Rice and Jalen Coker. Trevor Lawrence supplied 14 for New England, but its two running backs combined for one. Maye has now scored 49 in two weeks after seven across his first three; Las Vegas has won both.
Vikings
(3-1-1)
50
Saints
(4-1-0)
37
New Orleans went from 149 points over two weeks to five scoreless lineup spots, and Minnesota took full advantage. Pat Freiermuth caught two touchdowns for 13 points, Ollie Gordon contributed 10 in De'Von Achane's IR spot, and the Minnesota kicker added 11 in a 50–37 win. The Vikings had their 50 secured before Monday, leaving Puka Nacua's 138 receiving yards and touchdown insufficient to rescue the Saints. Nacua and the Colts kicker supplied 29 of New Orleans' 37. The defending champions' first loss leaves Carolina as the league's only unbeaten team.
Giants
(2-3-0)
57
Commanders
(2-3-0)
39
Parker Washington gave the Giants a productive start to their Sunday: six catches, 124 yards and two touchdowns for 18 points. Tyler Warren followed with 83 receiving yards and a rushing score, while Malik Willis added 13 points through the air and on the ground. New York's 57–39 win ended a three-game losing streak despite Deebo Samuel's scoreless exit with a hamstring injury. Derrick Henry's 14 and Drake London's 118 receiving yards couldn't bring Washington back Sunday night.
Broncos
(0-5-0)
44
Chargers
(2-3-0)
58
Denver was finished at 44 while the Chargers still trailed with three players working. Sam LaPorta's touchdown helped swing the score from 44–37 to 46–44, and the San Francisco defense provided the separation in a 58–44 win. That defense finished with 15 points, including a touchdown and four takeaways; LaPorta added 10. Los Angeles also received 16 average points from Bryce Young's NFL bye. Jayden Daniels ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns to give Denver 21, but even the Broncos' best total this season couldn't prevent an 0–5 start.
Lions
(0-5-0)
53
Cardinals
(3-2-0)
59
Detroit keeps finding new ways for a respectable score to become another loss. Its 53 wasn't enough against Arizona, where Bucky Irving's 165 rushing yards and two total touchdowns delivered 20 points. MarShawn Lloyd added 13 with two rushing scores, and Trey McBride supplied nine. Davante Adams' two Monday-night touchdowns pulled Detroit closer, but Arizona's completed 59 held up. The Lions are 0–5 while averaging 51.4 points; their opponents are averaging 67.2. Irving, meanwhile, surpassed his first four weeks combined, turning a quiet opening month into the centerpiece of Arizona's second straight win.
49ers
(3-2-0)
39
Seahawks
(4-1-0)
53
Josh Allen was Seattle's last player, and San Francisco's 39 was already posted. He turned a five-point deficit into a 53–39 win with 19 points Monday, including 121 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Mike Evans had contributed 14 and Braelon Allen 12, enough support despite three scoreless receiver and tight-end spots. Russell Bank's 49ers got nine from Emanuel Wilson, but all three receivers finished at zero. The result gives Jason Rosengarten and Justin Oland the latest bragging rights against their friend and rival, and puts Seattle alongside the Rams at 4–1.
Ravens
(2-3-0)
64
Falcons
(2-3-0)
35
Lamar Jackson was out, but Tyler Huntley made Baltimore's quarterback spot anything but a vacancy. Two touchdown passes and a rushing score delivered 17 points in a 64–35 win over Atlanta. Isaiah Likely added 16 through 11 catches, 94 yards and two touchdowns, while Jameson Williams needed only two catches to score twice and contribute 13. That trio alone outscored the Falcons. Aaron Jones answered with 113 rushing yards and 12 points, but Atlanta's receivers combined for five. Baltimore's two-game skid was over.
Bills
(4-1-0)
55
Rams
(4-1-0)
45
Buffalo brought Matthew Stafford into Monday against the unbeaten Rams, who were waiting on Kyren Williams and Dalton Kincaid. Stafford's 383 yards and three touchdown passes delivered 19 points, pushing the Bills to a 55–45 win and their fourth consecutive victory. Ja'Marr Chase returned with 77 receiving yards and a touchdown for 10, while Christian McCaffrey supplied nine. Williams scored late for Los Angeles, but the Rams couldn't keep pace even with Justin Jefferson back and contributing 10. Both clubs are now 4–1, and the Rams' perfect start is over.

Texans

Jaguars
(4-1-0)
Two 4–1 AFC South teams meet with Jacksonville leading the league at 58 points per game and Houston arriving on a four-game winning streak. Jared Goff's NFL bye puts more attention on James Cook and DeMario Douglas to sustain Houston's scoring surge, while Patrick Mahomes returns to a Jaguars lineup that just got 24 from Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The Texans' season-best 73 was quite an introduction to this divisional test.
Bills
(4-1-0)
at
Raiders
(3-2-0)
Buffalo's four straight wins run into a Raiders team that has scored 125 over its last two games. Drake Maye's sudden surge and Kenneth Walker's return from an NFL bye give Las Vegas plenty of appeal, while Matthew Stafford's NFL bye leaves Buffalo leaning more heavily on Christian McCaffrey and Ja'Marr Chase. The Bills are 4–1, but the 3–2 Raiders have scored 36 more points through the same five games.
Panthers
(4-0-0)
at
Eagles
(2-3-0)
Carolina returns from its TLFL bye as the last unbeaten team, bringing a 4–0 record and 54.5 points per game to Philadelphia. The Eagles have lost three straight and haven't reached 50 all season, making this a substantial test against a Panthers lineup featuring Bijan Robinson and Quinshon Judkins. Carolina scored 143 in its last two games before the break; Philadelphia needs a much broader response than another big day from its kicker.
